NOTICE INVITING SEALED BIDS

for

MONUMENT SIGNS

RIVERSIDE DRIVE AT SAKATA LAN E

MAIN STREET AT GREEN VALLEY ROAD

Notice is hereby given that the Purchasing Officer of the City of Watsonville will receive sealed bids at City Hall, 250 Main Street, Watsonville, California 95076 for:

 

MONUMENT SIGNS

RIVERSIDE DRIVE AT SAKATA LAN E

MAIN STREET AT GREEN VALLEY ROAD

ST-08-01

 

 

The project consists of performing the following, including, but not limited to:

 

Installation of monument signs, solar panel and lighting, artificial turf and modification of the existing landscaping and irrigation system.  Contractor will be required to obtain an Encroachment Permit from the State of California for this work.

 

The Engineer's estimate is $140,000.00.

 

Bidders are to be licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Contractors License Law, Chapter 9 of Division 3 of the State Business and Professions Code.  In addition, bidder must have at the time the contract is awarded for this project, one of the following classification(s) of contractor’s license:

 

Class A (General Engineering), C-8 (Concrete), C-23 (Ornamental Metal), C-27 (Landscape), C-61 (Limited Specialty) with D-42 (Sign Installation)

 

A charge of forty-seven dollars and fifty cents ($47.50), including tax, will be made for a complete set of plans and specifications, which shall be non‑refundable.  Add five dollars, ($5.00), to the cost if you wish the plans and specifications mailed to you, or include your Federal Express account number if you wish the plans and specifications sent to you by Federal Express.  The City retains no responsibility for plans lost, damaged or destroyed in the mailing process.  All checks for payment shall be made payable to the City of Watsonville.

 

In order to insure receipt of the Contractor's bid, the Contractor should hand deliver bid to 250 Main Street, Watsonville, CA, c/o Purchasing Officer, prior to the appointed bid opening time.  At the Contractor's risk, bids may be mailed to City of Watsonville, P.O. Box 50000, Watsonville, CA 95077-5000, c/o Purchasing Officer.  Bids will be received until 11:00 AM, according to the official clock in Purchasing Officer's office, on August 14, 2008, after which time they shall be opened in the old City Council Chambers, 250 Main Street, Watsonville , California.

 

Each bidder must submit a proposal addressed to the City of Watsonville and must be submitted in a single sealed envelope labeled:

The Proposal shall conform to the form and content required in the General Provisions of the City of Watsonville specifications and shall be accompanied by such proposal guaranty, certification of bidder's experience and qualifications and listing of subcontractors as required by such General Provisions.

 

The plans and specifications are on file at the Public Works/Utilities Department, City Hall, 250 Main Street, Watsonville, California 95076.

 

The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids received as the public good may require.
